Yana Yaseneva is a photographer and filmmaker born in Russia and living in Canada.

She started photographing in 2005 and later it led her to filmmaking. She graduated from Cinematography for film and video faculty at Capilano University (Vancouver, BC) in 2010 and since then has been working in Vancouver film industry as a part of camera crew (finished a camera trainee program at IATSE 669 in 2014).

She wrote and directed short artistic films: “The Missing Me” (2010), “Bar Paradise” (2011), “Hotel” (2013) and “The Moon and the Raven” (2016).

Her photography mostly focuses on social and existential sides of life. An ongoing photo-series “Blind” focuses on blind children from the orphanages for blind and visually impaired children.

In her work she uses both film (35mm and 120mm) and digital cameras. And sometimes iPhone.
